Newport Escape
A rare oasis in the rolling rocky hills of Newport, RI lies this beautiful property enriched in history and elegance. Long time clients of more than 10 years asked us to start bringing this property to life at night. Over the course of a few years we helped create a composition of lighting that expands through the property telling a story of the landscape. The main house built mostly of stone dates back to 1887. We saw the texture of the stone to be a great opportunity to soften the home at night with soft lighting down the facade from above with glare controlling fixtures which double as way finding light into the home.
Wild by nature
Our landscape lighting design utilized a variety of fixtures and techniques to create a nighttime environment with inviting meeting places throughout the landscape. A design idea that I love is “A chair in the distance is a place for the mind’s eye to wander out, sit upon and rest.” This concept is used to create a mindful reprieve at night in the landscape. with more than 20 acres of magnificent specimen trees, wild rock formations and native wild gardens throughout, this land has been a pleasure and an honor to work with. All the while, enjoying beautiful sunsets behind a softly lit rolling landscape.
