East Hampton landscape lighting design.

This home stands as a beacon of tranquility that comes alive as the sun sets. The main feature of the landscape is the meditation garden designed by Charlie Marder of Marder’s. You enter the garden down a narrow path designed to be a dry river bed of sorts surrounded by Japanese specimen trees and granite stepping stones which force you to watch where you’re going and purposely slow down. You then open up to a wonderful layered view complete with a wood sitting platform. The effect of being in the space at night with soft layered lighting is a truly soothing experience. The goal isn't just to light the surroundings but to infuse an atmosphere of calmness and serenity, making this space a sanctuary for peace-seekers.

The art of landscape lighting is about creating an environment that encourages quite reflection, interpersonal interactions, and shared experiences. In the evening hours, this East Hampton landscape becomes a living canvas where light and shadow create an ambiance that sparks conversations and shared moments.

Showcasing natural beauty

Here, landscape lighting serves as a gentle guide, directing attention to the inherent beauty of the landscape. From meticulously selected lighting fixtures highlighting unique elements to well-lit pathways, the design effortlessly accentuates the natural aesthetics. The thoughtful use of light amplifies the allure of both mature and young plantings, creating an enchanting visual narrative that brings forth the organic charm of the garden.

In this carefully crafted illumination, each element within the landscape is accentuated without overpowering its natural beauty. The lighting design respects the subtleties of nature, accentuating the unique characteristics while maintaining an unobtrusive, harmonious presence.
